I mentioned on Monday that the latest Sundance Screening Room calendar had been set for February and March. And now I have more good news — Sundance Cinemas and I have scheduled post-show chats after two of the more intriguing movies on the bill.
The talks, sponsored by Madison Movie and the Cap Times, all take place Tuesday nights following the 7 p.m. screening of the film in the Overflow Bar, which is that cool space right across from the box office. Just stop in after the movie (around 9 p.m. or so) and let’s share our thoughts about the movie. We had some wonderful discussions last year about films like “The Act of Killing” and “Stories We Tell,” and I think these ones will spark some lively chat as well.
The first is Paolo Sorrentino’s “The Great Beauty,” which opens on Feb. 21, and is supposed to be a wonderful homage to Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita.” The talk will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Then we’ll be talking about “Stranger By the Lake,” which just played at the Sundance Film Festival and is a haunting thriller about two gay men accused of murder. It opens on March 21. That talk will take place on Tuesday, March 25.
Hope you can make it!
